You don t need specialty cleaners for marble. The only cleaning agents you should use on a regular basis are hot water and a specially formulated marble cleaner. Don t use abrasive cleaner or pads either because marble can be scratched. Sprinkle a little baking soda onto the surface of the marble.

Mild soap and hot water will do just fine. Marble is a porous material that can be easily discolored or faded by the citrus liquids oil ink metal furniture etc. You do not want to scrub because that can damage the surface. A secret in knowing how to clean marble countertops.

All you need to do is apply a small amount of cleaner on the stains and area you want to clean and you are done. A single use of these acidic substances will eat into a marble countertop s surface and dull the stone. Gently rub the baking soda into the marble with a soft damp cloth. Make sure you thoroughly rinse the area with water to remove the soap residue because a buildup could eventually damage the marble.

Then rinse with water and dry with a soft towel. Lightly spray the surface with the cleaning solution. Use a clean cloth to wipe down the marble surface. You need not scrub the marble surface to clean the stubborn stains.

Castile soap is an incredibly versatile stone cleaner. Use a soft cloth to gently dry the marble surface. Buff dry with a cotton cloth or chamois. It is very easy to use.
